The nonprofit Sonoran Institute, founded in 1990, works across the rapidly changing West to conserve and restore natural and cultural assets and to promote better management of growth and change. The institute’s community-based approach emphasizes collaboration, civil dialogue, sound information, local knowledge, practical solutions, and big-picture thinking. |

The University of Arizona is part of a nationwide educational network of scientists and educators who help people solve problems and put knowledge to use. Western PlannerThe Western Planner was established in 1979 and is an affiliation of 13 Western state planning associations. The WPR Board consists of representatives from the 13 planning organizations. The individual state organizations select representatives to represent their association on the WPR Board. The board also appoints an Editorial Board who reviews all feature articles and proofs each issue. The state representatives and editorial board members volunteer their time and efforts to produce a journal that concentrates on planning issues in the West and that addresses the unique needs of planners in the West. |

ULI ArizonaThe mission of the Urban Land Institute is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The ULI Arizona District Council was formed in the early 1980s, as a direct response to the need for educational forums and events at a local level. ULI Arizona has been a statewide convener for dialogs among change-agents and industry leaders in providing an unbiased and non-partisan exchange of ideas relevant to Arizona communities. ULI Arizona boasts nearly nine hundred members, and has one of the highest member participation rates of any ULI District Council. |

Audubon International
Audubon International is a 501(c)(3) environmental not-for-profit organization that uses education, technical assistance, certification, and recognition to facilitate the implementation of sustainable natural resource management practices. The organization works with a diversity of partners and other stakeholders in the U.S. and throughout the world to positively impact environmental health at multiple geographic scales, including individual sites, campuses, communities, and regions. Through its Sustainable Communities Program, Audubon International also publicly recognizes the accomplishments of participating communities and helps them actively communicate their environmental successes and other positive strides being taken to collectively enhance and protect each community's natural, economic, and social capital.
