Healthy Community Design Toolkit
The Healthy Community Design Toolkit is a project of APA AZ MAC21 project, Arizona Department of Health, Livable Communities Coalition, Maricopa County Department of Public Health, St. Luke's Health Initiatives, and Sonoran Institute. This collaboration is an effort to educate the public as well as provide opportunities for incorporating healthy community design policies into General/Comprehensive Plans throughout Arizona.
Released in 2012, this toolkit serves as a tool for planners and public health officials who wish to lay the groundwork for creating healthier communities using general plan update process.
The MAC21 Project – "Making Arizona Competitive: 21st Century Infrastructure" – has been initiated by the Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association to provide a forum for a state-wide discussion of how the Arizona economy can and must be changed to make Arizona more competitive in the 21st Century Global Economy.
